The Ministry of Interior is a strategic partner for the General Women's Union in many programs related to women’s care and protection, based on mutual partnership and cooperation in the field of research and organization of various awareness activities on topics such as traffic safety and child protection.
The basic agreement between the United Arab Emirates and The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in 1972 constitutes a basis for the relationship between the UAE government and UNICEF. The relationship has developed intensively with the signing of a cooperation program between UNICEF and the General Women's Union as a strategic partner for UNICEF Gulf Area in the United Arab Emirates. The General Women's Union also hosts the UNICEF office at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

The Federal Authority for Competitiveness and Statistics is a basic reference for the General Women's Union in the survey of various statistics related to the indicators of women's empowerment. The Women's Union works closely with the Authority to build a database on gender indicators and conduct relevant surveys.
The General Women's Union is keen to learn about the best practices in the area of women's empowerment through its cooperation with various United Nations organizations, most importantly the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The main areas of cooperation with the programme includes the use of its technical support in cooperation with sister United Nations organizations such as ESCWA and UN Women.

The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding which entered into force on the date of its signing on 22 September 2017, for counseling on the advancement of women in the region. It is worth mentioning that the General Women's Union hosts the UN Women's Communication Office at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
On May 20, 2017 the General Women's Union and Abu Dhabi University signed a memorandum of understanding to promote the mutual cooperation and support all the efforts aimed at the advancement and empowerment of Emirati women. The agreement was a qualitative leap in the close cooperation the GWU seeks with all state institutions, especially educational ones. Under the agreement, the two parties exchange documents, information, studies, research and scientific papers and cooperate in the field of research related to the nature of work of the GWU and Abu Dhabi University.
The General Women's Union signed a memorandum of understanding with Beit Al Khair Society in October 2017, aiming to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two parties in all fields in order to consolidate the efforts of Emirati women and allow them to play their full role in society.
The General Women's Union and Khalifa Empowerment Program for Students (Aqdar) have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at activating the national document for student awareness, deepening the effective communication between the two parties along with the joint results and outputs in the field of social awareness. The agreement was intended for students in the country’s public and private schools and universities.
In December 2013, The General Women's Union and the FAO Sub-Regional Office signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the project of empowering Emirati women in food and agriculture sector in the UAE. The GWU, in cooperation with FAO Sub-Regional Office for the Gulf Cooperation Council States and Yemen has launched the Food Awareness and School Gardens Project for the UAE students in the first and second cycles of primary education.
The General Women's Union and the National and Reserve Service Authority have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of female national service. The National Service program aims at enhancing the loyalty and belonging of young people, preparing them to take responsibility for building and developing their homeland, immunizing them against destructive intellectual and religious trends and beliefs and increasing cohesion among society members.
In May 2012, the General Women's Union and the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a strategic partnership between the two parties in order to ensure the highest level of social services provided by the GWU Child Visitation Office, within a clear legal framework to which ADJD will contribute to draft. This legal framework helps the Child Visitation Center achieve its most important objectives in contributing to the protection of families from disintegration factors and damages by providing a dynamic and diverse range of targeted and renewable social programs and activities.
In December 2007, The General Women's Union signed a memorandum of understanding with Bahrain's Supreme Council for Women aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two parties for the advancement of Arab women, exchange of experiences and benefiting from successful experiences between the two parties in various fields related to women's empowerment issues.
In October 2014, The General Women's Union signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs to coordinate both parties’ efforts in promoting the culture of political participation in society, especially among women across the emirates, in addition to cooperate in preparation of joint research and studies and organization of conferences, seminars and training programs in the field of political awareness in order to advance Emirati women and allow them to play their full role in society.
In October 2017, the General Women’s Union signed a memorandum of understanding with Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Foundation to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two parties in all fields in order to activate women’s role, enhance their entrepreneurial capacities and encourage micro, small and medium enterprises to enable Emirati women to participate in the economic field.
In August 2017, the General Women's Union and the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation and coordination between the two parties in all fields in order to unify the efforts of Emirati women and allow them to play their full role in society.
